- Sulfomethyl Phenolic Resin SMP-I is a high-performance water-based drilling fluid filtration reducer, synthesized from phenol, formaldehyde and sulfonating agent. It is the core treatment agent of three-sulfonated drilling fluid system, widely used in medium-deep, deep and ultra-deep well drilling operations. It has excellent high temperature resistance up to 180℃, outstanding salt & calcium resistance, low viscosity and stable rheology. SMP-I can form thin and tough mud cake, effectively control HTHP filtration loss, stabilize wellbore wall, improve mud lubricity, and perfectly adapt to fresh water, brine and low-saturation saltwater drilling fluids. The product has good compatibility with SMC, SMT and other sulfonated additives, no flocculation to clay particles, won't increase mud viscosity sharply, suitable for high-density drilling fluid. Low dosage, cost-effective, stable performance under harsh high-temperature and high-salt downhole complex formations.
